Hi, I’m Lori.

Lori Henry, eating disorder therapist

I help people recover from eating disorders (or prevent them in the first place).

My Approach

I see everyone I work with as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. Recovery happens at the intersection of what occupational therapists call “doing,” “being” and “becoming”: my sessions focus on balancing these three concepts through practical strategies, inner growth and integrating these into your daily life.

I’m known for my gentle but firm, approachable, trauma-informed and compassionate approach.

Holistic

I know eating disorders and related difficulties. I have worked with people in inpatient hospital wards, outpatient clinics, youth programs, at dance conferences, and in private practice.

  • If you’d like an introductory session, you can book a free 15-minute call. Otherwise, an Initial Assessment is the first session (1 hour) where you can ask me any questions and I will explain the process of our ongoing work. I will have a series of questions to ask you that will inform a treatment plan that I develop after the session. We’ll then agree on the frequency of sessions going forward.

  • Initial Assessment (1 hour): $200 CAD

    CBT-E Assessment (2 hours): $350 CAD

Follow up sessions (50 minutes): $150 CAD

Insurance: If you have an extended benefits plan, please check your coverage for Occupational Therapy or Psychotherapy to see whether my services are covered. If you have an autism diagnosis and live in Ontario, you can use your funding through the Ontario Autism Program for your sessions.

  • Therapy is a collaborative process, so you are free to stop sessions at any time. I work collaboratively with all my clients, so there will be an open dialogue regarding how you feel you’re progressing. I always hope my clients feel comfortable enough to speak with me first if they want to adjust their sessions or stop completely.

  • Our sessions are confidential and remain solely between us. For parents who book sessions for their teenagers, please know that what your child tells me is confidential unless they give me permission to share.

Saying that, I must report a client if they say they are planning to take their own life or harm someone else.
